Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the PKBC Connect mobile app ("the app") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. PKBC Connect is provided by Pwo Karen Baptist Church ("PKBC", "we", "us").
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we store the phone number and passcode you register with, so you can sign back in. Your passcode is stored securely and is never visible to us in plain text.
- Device and notification information. To deliver push notifications about new posts, events, and campaigns, we store your device's push token, device platform (iOS/Android), and app version.
- Donation information. If you make a donation through the app, we record the amount, the campaign or purpose you gave toward, and the payment status, as its own transaction record — it isn't linked to your app account. Payments themselves are processed by MyanMyanPay, a third-party payment provider — PKBC Connect does not collect or store your bank or mobile-wallet account details.
- Content interactions. Things like saved/bookmarked posts and events are stored so the app can show them back to you.
- Optional information you provide. If you contact us through the app (for example, a contact message) or choose to add a name when generating a donation "thank you" card, we store what you provide.
How we use this information
- To operate core app features: showing you content, remembering what you've saved, and letting you sign in.
- To send you push notifications you'd reasonably expect (new posts, events, and campaigns).
- To process and record donations you choose to make, and to acknowledge your support.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share limited information only where necessary to run the app:
- MyanMyanPay — to process donation payments you initiate.
- Push notification delivery services (such as Apple, Google/Firebase, or Expo) — solely to deliver notifications to your device.
- Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PKBC, our users, or others.
Data retention
We keep your account and device information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the app's features. You can request deletion of your account and the data tied to it at any time (see below). Donation records are kept separately for accounting purposes, since they aren't linked to your account in the first place.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn off push notifications at any time in your phone's system settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing us (see Contact, below).

Children's privacy
PKBC Connect is intended for a general church-community audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
